We are getting some very large eggs daily fron all 7 hens, but today I couldnt believe this!! Is this normal to get an occasional behemoth like this?? Obviously layed by our Easter egger special for us on Easter morning

I think it's normal. I have a hen who lays 2-3 huge double yolk eggs a week. They're not quite this big but they're still a surprise!!

Maybe it's even a triple! I like to hard boil double yolked eggs so then I can slice it and have a pic.

Could also be a shelled egg inside there...break 'er open and see what's what!

Are these new layers?
Double yolkers pretty common with new layers.

My RIR has layed a couple that big her first fall. I blew out the yolk and colored it for Easter and nail polishes it so I'd always have it! And one we hard boiled

We just got this one yesterday. We haven't opened it yet but I bet there's at least 2 yolks in there. 3 would be super cool.
