Some of my hens lay eggs which are in size beyond what I would have believed possible. I thought it would be fun to start a largest egg contest in this thread.

Here are my suggested rules:

1. Chicken eggs only.
2. Eggs must be intact when weighed.
3. Weigh your egg on an accurate kitchen scale (digital is best).
4. Report weight here in grams. The honor system is in effect.
5. The contest is held on a going-forward basis. Eggs you may have weighed at some time in the past are not eligible.

I'll start. Although it's not the largest I've ever gotten, it's the first I've weighed on an accurate scale.

102 grams. From a white leghorn.

Who is next?

I got this one today from Angel, my California White. She's been laying since Thanksgiving Day. I think this translates to about 96 grams. It's not quite as big as yours, but I'm impressed!!

I got a 103-gram egg from one of my brown egg layers today. Beats my old record by a whopping 1 gram. But surely someone can beat that!

GG

We had a 93.6 gram egg from our 9 month old Rhode Island Red yesterday....she laid another one shortly before that was 88.7 grams....her normal eggs are around the 50 gram mark...
