Largest nicest breed?

Like Cornish X? I have one of three that I can pretty much pet or pick up at will. And he's a big boy. Teddy Bears indeed.

Might get along well with Jersey Giant...? Hmmm?

Good stuff here folks! Thanks!

I can't believe nobody said cochins! I love my big fluffy guys & girls. They are supposed to be really docile, but most of mine are young.

My Orps and Rocks seem to be the most people-friendly. They're almost like dogs the way they follow me everywhere.

Cochins, Brahmas... I even have a big Delaware pullet that is real nice.

I live in upstate NY, too, and so far, I LOVE my barred rocks, they are huge, friendly, and lay HUGE eggs and can tolerate the cold, so far

Cochins, Cochins, Cochins, we live in Wisconsin with long COLD winters and they do great. Very calm birds, large and we do show all of ours. If you are interested in eggs let me know.

Show Quality Cochins, Langshans, Orpingtons, Jersey Giants, Brahmas, and possibly Javas and Wyandottes would all fit the bill. Show quality birds are generally much larger than their utility or hatchery counter parts.

Forget the American breeds and go with Asiatic!
