Thanks for explaining, I was confused and had never heard of a Momma Duck doing that to her baby when it was not a newborn. I hope that it recovers well for you.

As long as that hen doesn't do it again, I think she'll heal just fine. It was just bizarre, I have never had that aggressive of a response happen from a hen towards any other bird before. I really don't know what triggered her like that. The duckling has her legs back under her though, amd is as fast as ever, walking and cheeping away like she was before any of this happened though

I didn't know if there was any breeders breeding higher quality than hatchery birds. The bantam darks are almost impossible to find

Looks like she has both eyes. She has a bit of a harder time getting o her feet if she's knocked onto her back, but nothing to worry about from what I can tell. The attacking hen isn't causing any other issues. She's been around the duckling since it hatched, still not sure what set her off

I wouldn't know. I got her mostly because mt dad had liked the color of the large one
