As long as that hen doesn't do it again, I think she'll heal just fine. It was just bizarre, I have never had that aggressive of a response happen from a hen towards any other bird before. I really don't know what triggered her like that. The duckling has her legs back under her though, amd is as fast as ever, walking and cheeping away like she was before any of this happened thoughThanks for explaining, I was confused and had never heard of a Momma Duck doing that to her baby when it was not a newborn. I hope that it recovers well for you.

I wouldn't know. I got her mostly because mt dad had liked the color of the large oneI didn't know if there was any breeders breeding higher quality than hatchery birds. The bantam darks are almost impossible to find
