One of our birds passed a lash egg yesterday. We have 10 sharing a large coop & run, so we can't be sure which one it was. I've read some stuff that said this often occurs to older birds, we have one Rhode Island Red from our 1st flock that is 9 years old, so I'm assuming it's her.
I hadn't heard of this before, so my first reaction was WTH is that!

It could be from your older hen, hard to know unless you see her pass another one or if she shows signs of being unwell.

If you find out which hen (for sure) that is passing the lash egg, then you can try treating with antibiotics. It's not a cure, but may extend life.
