Hello everyone. I’m new to incubatting and completely surprised I have made it this far. My Polish layed some winter eggs and I decided to throw them in the incubator and they all where fertile but i started off with 12 eggs and only have four now. They all died so close to hatching day. I have a feeling a few died because I didn’t have them positioned right. And there has been no sign of pippin in any.. I currently have one that is possibly dead but I’m not sure and don’t want to open it.. I candled the egg today. There is no movement and no veins the complete opposite of what it looked like last night. Should i wait before opening it? Is that normal? The egg should be on day 19-20. Thank you.

If an egg has not started to develop temperature will not matter much unless the egg freezes. The temp outside of the incubator may have messed with the eggs, a change in more than 3 degrees can change the temp inside the incubator. Also, if you kept the incubator in a sunny area that could affect the temp inside. Also, as the chicks start to develop they start to produce heat, towards the later days of incubation the temp will rise. Make sure that the temp remains at 99*F - 102*F throughout the entire incubation process.
