I'm trying to hatch 2 of the last Silkie eggs I have and 2 goose eggs. And I have a tiny incubator that won't hold all of the eggs so I got a box with a blanket and a bowl of water and a heat lamp. It worked for me when I hatched my geese last year and I decided that I would try it this way to. I also have a aquarium thermometer and this morning one of the Silkie eggs smell BAD! And then I cracked it open and there was a full formed chick inside with a yolk sack. It all seemed perfectly fine, except it smelled even worse inside the egg. What have I done wrong?
