I started with 16 eggs, two failed to develop and two were early quitters.

The fathers of the first group are Jersey Giant x RIR back-crossed to the RIR. One of the fathers (they're brothers) was taken by some kind of predator, which is part of why we started this hatch.

The other piece of "why" is that I'm feeding my addiction.

Mothers of the first group are Marans, Ranger, and Buckeye.

Second group is a BYM rooster over a blue egg layer.

Today is lockdown...

Good luck for a successful hatch. Good conformation on the roosters pictured.
I just realized that I don't have any good pictures of the second. He was the one that died. What makes up "good conformation"?

Three pipped so far, and I just heatd a chirp. Turning on the chick music.

8 of 12 hatched! One pipped on the wrong end but didn't need any help.

The four that didn't hatch made it to lockdown but never pipped. They were all the blue eggs so I suspect something was wrong with the group.
