It is currently day 16 of my incubation and I have been keeping my eggs at 99.5 degrees and 30-40 humidity. When do I raise my humidity for the hatch and how high do i raise it. This is the first time I have hatched eggs. Is there any other I need to know for the hatch?

At day 18 you will stop turning the eggs ( take them out of the automatic turner) and raise the humitiy to 65-75% . Don't be tempted to open the incubator unless its an emergency! and you will soon be getting internal pips (breaking through the membrane into the air sac) then external pips( breaking the first hole in the egg) before "zipping" . wait to throw out any eggs until day 25 at least. Wait to take out any chicks until they are dry and no other eggs have any pips. Good luck and keep us posted!

Nate, how do your air cells look? Humidity is a tool to manage your air cell size. If your air cells are properly sized, your plan is good. If they are on the big size, you can increase humidity now, and if your air cells are on the small size, then you could run your humidity as is right up until first internal pip. There is an air cell guide in Hatching Eggs 101 in the learning center.
