3C, with wind chill -2C. Freezing rain at times. Wet and windy all day.
"We're not going out in that!" And they didn't. I fed them in the coop extension. Dashed out between downpours to fetch clean water, do the overnight food and water and clean out the coop,

Our sweet baby "pullet," haha. And his Mr. February 2026 photo because I'm proud of him <--that photo was actually taken in late August, just prior to molting. I never know if his beard is smaller than others due to genes or the girls keeping it short for him.

Mow 1st photo appears ready to go upstairs and have done with such nonsensical weather as that!

19/02.
A dry afternoon at around 6C with light winds.
We got onto the field for an hour and a bit. It got colder late afternoon and the chickens retired about half an hour before dusk.

Got the kids with sticks problem again. I know which kid it is and despite having spoken to the parents the little brat is still coming onto the field and tormenting the chickens as they did with the geese if regular readers recall.:he

Had problems getting Glais to eat any of the treats I took. He dropped everything for Mow and Sylph, he even manged to make an effort to ensure a fair split. Good out on the field. He kept close to Mow and Sylph and did more watching then foraging.

I put down some corn to try and find out the new rat run they adopted which avoids the traps. Psycho Chew A Coop didn't attend. I did see her scuttle along the front of the run earlier. As you can see, a 410 shotgun with a small choke would get the lot.
