Last winter proved that a couple hawks took two of my chickens.
Tried making a scarecrow and that lasted about 2 days and it was back trying again.
Federally protected and state too, decided to net the entire area. Hate to have to do that, but was worth the hassle and $50 for a span of area to cover. Very easy to get caught up in the stuff...
