Hi.
Last year my small flock of hens got bigger as one of the hens had chicks. There was 7 chicks and as they got older we found there were(what we thought) only two cockrels. Got rid of one to a friend but kept the other since he was quite docile to his father.
But recently one of the so called hens from those chicks has started crowing but months after the other two did.
This chicken has always been late to grow in every way. Feathers were weeks after it’s siblings and only started clucking about a month later. It’s also always been very small and to put it kindly a bit thick. One more thing is it seems to have an on going eye condition(watery, sticky eyes) hence its name Squinty.
Any ideas why it took so long to grow up or just how it is??
Thanks
