Internal pip on one of my welsh harlequin eggs! Only the beginning of day 26.
Increasing humidity and not touching the incubator again.
Oh how hard it is not to open it!

That's good~It's hard when your babies are sick. Maybe by tonight or tomorrow you will have some chicks to keep you busy too!  How many do you have in there anyhow?

Twenty seven! All just random backyard flock eggs that I bought locally. Annnnnd the first one pipped and hatched sooooo fast!!! He just zipped right along and was out within minutes. He's peeping like crazy! Haha! he did have a little glob of yolk with possibly some poo attached that fell off. Seems to be doing great though!

Turned my eggs for the last time tonight. That one egg has a definite internal pip and is tapping the shell.... I moved the humidity to 55. I won't put it any higher because of all the other eggs. Hopefully the baby will take a nap now!! All the other eggs look good!!
Like parents world wide: omg, please let the baby sleep through the night!!! Lol!

I have a pip. Only one so far but I'm doing a happpppy Dance. LOL

Wonderful & congrats! I am so happy you had a quick pip and zip chick! How are the other eggs doing? Don't worry about that little glob...it will seperate from the chick most of the time. Give them a little glance over when you pull them all out of the incubator after your hatch is all done .

Hoping for lots of fuzz in the glass in the morning!

Thank you! The little glob fell off and he's still doing well. Just had a dark gray chick hatch tonight too! It's hard to see but I think at least fifty percent have now pipped. Only a couple are starting to zip so far. Can't wait for morning!!

I didn't not wait twenty four hours at all.

I just saw them this morning and panicked that they couldn't breathe. I've read it partially but will read it again. Ugh!!! I didn't expect to be so freaked out. I'm just scared that they will need help and I don't help but I'm also scared I will help when it's too soon and like you said, accidentally kill them. Ughhh!! I just want them out and safe. I can't even go anywhere to keep myself busy. My ten month old just got out of the hospital yesterday with pneumonia. I do have to run to the store for a vaporizer really quick so that will burn some time up! Thank you for the advice!!!

This fear, that the chick "can't breathe", is a common one. But if you just take a moment and think, the chick has never breathed before it makes a complete pip...so a partial pip (e.g. shell but not membrane) is just no different than no pip at all.

Irrational fear time--my babies have either sleep thru the night or died. No more quiet sounds from the eggs nor has the little pip gotten bigger. Day 20. yes I know it takes time and it's irrational but my only defense is this is my first time lol
