Late hatch

Hi i was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with late hatch and i mean really late hatches
as i have some eggs that were supposed to hatch on monday but they had only developed to day 17 and their still
alive but it means there going to be late and hatch on saturday or sunday and i was unsure why this would happen any feedback would be great

I had a chick hatch on day 27 before.

The reason was because my thermometer was not reading right, and when it said

it was perfect at 99.5 F, the temperature through-out the incubation was actually

95F. I found out at lockdown when I found my good thermometer.

Late hatches are generally caused by low incubation temperatures

Thanks for that I might check to make sure the thermostat thermometer is correct
