Late Layer

My girls are usually done laying by about noon, the latest by one. There was an egg from everyone who is currently laying when I went out around 2 PM.

Just now (not quite 4 PM), I took some kitchen scraps out and was surprised to find another egg from my Marans, still warm and obviously freshly laid. I guess this must mean the earlier egg was really from yesterday, although I'm amazed she is laying so late in the day, especially since we get dark here so early and I have chosen not to do supplemental lighting.

Go figure!
