FYI, a hydrometer measures specific gravity of liquids. A hygrometer measures humidity.

Has the membrane been pierced at least? Can you see the beak? I just lost a chick that made a big pip but never penetrated the membrane. It was tough as leather. Poor baby. Anyway you're doing right! You have the Janoel-12 bator, AKA Magicfly-12, and they say to put only 120 mL in there or something. Screw that! Add warm distilled water so there is a 1/4 in. of water in the bottom!
