And glad you and your DH are getting along - I threaten divorce every time we have to build or improve our flocks home

Haha, yeah sometimes working out in the heat and he's hit his thumb with a hammer for the third time and those stupid nail/staple things keep flying out every time I try to hammer them, tensions can run high

I think chicken math hit so quickly since we built a big enough coop/run for "future additions" thinking in a few years to add a few more in as the first gen got older, but then spring came back around, chicks are cute, and I really want some blue eggs. lol

Unfortunately I wasn't able to take my flock with me. I found them a good home with a BYC member who took them all so they could stay together. I had enough to deal with driving cross-country pulling a trailer for the first time. I've since started a new flock here in WY with 6 chicks I got from another BYC member here in WY. Just one more perk for being a BYC member...we all help each other out!

Yeah we always wondered if the best route is finding a local home for them since a move would be so logistically difficult. I just like our chickens so much! Just hypothetical for us anyway since we aren't moving but still. Glad you were able to find a good home for one flock and then take in another. That's awesome the community works so nicely that way
