I have two grow out groups that have been together and have fertile eggs. I’ve been hatching mixed orpingtons while I wait for more pen space to be built. The mixed orpington chicks are going to pet homes.
Im ready to separate into two pens, one jubilee and one BBS. When can I expect to get eggs only fertilized by the correct rooster?
I know the hens can store speed for a while and have fertile eggs easily for two-3 weeks without a rooster, but what about if a new rooster is breeding them?
