Not necessarily. But when I separated my flock, I found my girls became snippy when in the yard together. My rooster was good about breaking up fights. But it was a constant thing.
Later I built a larger coop and moved them all in together. After a time, they mostly quit fighting. Some of them are still clanish, but for the most part, they get along. They're pretty gentle breeds, but there are always a few bullies.
