My 18 month old EE stopped laying about a week ago and this morning I noticed a pile of feathers underneath her spot on the roost. She's acting normally as far as I can tell and doesn't appear to have any bare spots. I honestly can't remember if she molted in the fall, but the girls get a couple of extra hours of light in the mornings and have all been laying consistently through what little of winter we've had here in Atlanta. Anything I should worry about or is a late winter molt pretty common?

I think what's common is a heavy molt at 18 months.

I also have a hen going through a heavy molt. When they are molting there combs will become paler and they stop laying. Try increasing her protein a little can cat food will help her and help with the calories she is burning to stay warm. My poor hen looks miserable!
