laugh at me, then answer question

When I sold off my old flock and brought in my new breed it took 2 months to start getting eggs again.

I had 1 roo for 15 hens and I had 4 that were tore up. I can't imagine what your poor girls look like!

Good of you to rescue them! They may be laying eggs outside somewhere and teaching your hens the same bad habit. But it's not unusual for hens to take 5-6 weeks to adjust, shouldn't be affecting your previous hens like that, though. Look for hidden nests, egg stealing snakes, other possibilities.

The only cautionary note I would like to add is that there is no mention of quarantine and that's always scary, especially when buying started birds from a questionable source.

Enjoy the good karma of the rescue, and I hope your next post is "what to do with all these eggs?"

I am glad that you rescued the poor girls and like was mentioned I am sure you helped the roos out too. This may seem wrong to some but maybe you should "mention" these people to animal control or something so they can be looked into. The animals that are still there are still going through suffering--hard to tell what aother animals they may have that are not being given proper care...? Just my thought though...
