Laundering chicken-pooped clothes and other stuff

I switched to a fish based, soy free organic chick feed and noticed my chicks' poops became smaller, drier and not smelly (except for the cecal poops, which still stink to high heaven).

Chicks poop a lot, way more than doves, budgies or linneolated parakeets. But that makes sense, since they are growing so fast and their bodies are processing so much food.

It surprises me still how I have gotten more accustomed to chicken poo...and how much can be in the coop and be non offensive. We bring a chicken inside now and then for a visit, one rooster comes in the doggie door and stands by the kitchen table waiting for treats at dinner time. Mine love to sit on your lap in the yard, and i just aim the pooper off the side! hahahah. But they dont poop nearly as much now that they are older. Oh and I carry them like a football...if you want them to sit with you in the house, just drape a cloth or paper towel newspaper whatever you want. Yours might take a while to train and tame.

I have one girl who went a little over an hour without pooping while sitting in my brother’s lap. She practically exploded when we set her in the yard at home so I think she was holding it in or something. Meanwhile my boy crapped on me like 4 times throughout that trip. He didn’t even try to aim it off of me.
