Hello! I just finished my first year as a chicken mama and I love it. I have 4GSL, 1RSL, 3 Barred Rock hens and now I have 5 new little pullets. 2 Welsumer, a light Brahma, an Ameracauna and a blue Cochin. They have a large run, but I am introducing everyone to free ranging and we are having a great time. They are so curious and so useful. My planters are getting weeded and fertilized. Mydogs are very accepting of their new friends.

Yes, they can be very useful. I sprinkle their daily treats under my rose bushes.. They keep all the grass from growing under them... No more weeding for me.
