Lavender Ameraucana Breeders .... UNITE

Pics
Did you read my signature line? I'm an APA Judge & I expect I'm at least as familiar with the process of admitting new breeds/varieties as you are. On the other thread I mentioned I pointed this process out to the "experts" to no avail, they still insisted anything not now in the Standard is an Easter Egger. I even tried the "project" label. That too was rejected.
I thought the tongue-in cheek nature of my comment here was apparent. Chose an emoticron to illustrate this. It was understood by some but perhaps humor isn't something you get.

It took me a bit to realize you were joking as well. I have to admit, when I first read your post I was pretty ticked off, then I realized you were sarcastically pointing out the same thing that upsets us about the ABC - I get that they are trying to preserve the breed and protect against Americanas and other junk birds, but restricting projects like this one makes them irritating. By their definition any breed that isn't in the SOP is not actually a breed but a "mutt".

I'm afraid I have some bad news for you Lavender Ameraucana breeders. According to Ameraucana "experts" in another thread here if they're not varieties admitted to the Standard they're Easter Eggers not Ameraucanas. Sorry I had to be the one to break the bad news.

Sorry I did miss your signature and the tounge in cheeck humor.I myself do not agree with the hardline stance of some.We welcome constructive input. This thread was started to get away from the negative.

I think we need to be prepared for negativity and criticism - especially from the APA. I believe that is part of their job has we go through this approval/inclusion process. It is their job to hold us to a standard. I don't take it personally at all. In fact, I got hammered by "folks" for taking my "porcelain/self blue cream/blue cream/opal" bearded Silkies to the Canadian National. They are also a project colour and as such, it seems, frowned on by many of the more serious poultry folks. Heck, I couldn't even get a concensus on a name to show them under. Tag was a mess by the end of the day. But I didn't care and neither did they. At the end of the day, the judge judged them (Terry Britt) and they were a HUGE hit with the crowd. He also gave me some very constructive advice about what he is seeing around North America, his opinion on how my birds stacked up, and what he believed I need to work on. So I'm very glad I took them. Bring on the negativity and the criticism. Simply more opportunity for me to learn.

I have one lone lav roo... he was in with 8 other cockerels that he grew up with. He has been driving several of the cockerels out of the house. He doesn't let them come in even at night and has severely injured one of the young Redcaps. Are Ameraucanas usually so aggressive? Right now he's in a run by himself. I was going to move a few (summer broody) Silkies into that run... I'm sick of them sleeping in the nest boxes. . All the cocks are close in age but he's the largest in size. I have a couple of black Ameraucana hens... mostly just wanted blue eggs. I need to keep him there and fight the dirty egg boxes or rehome him. I don't know much about Ameraucanas but I don't want to breed progressively more inferior stock. I'd like to share a couple of photos and get some comments as to his "worth" as a possible breeder.. I realize the pictures aren't great but it is still raining here. Thank you for any thoughts you any to share.

Flitter,
The pictures are not very revealing but what is somewhat visual the color looks good and his tail looks like it should. Really need a better picture to be sure though. Where in Pa are you NE, SE, NW, SW or Central?
