Lavender Araucana - Tufts?

I am new to this. I have 8 seven week old chicks. I think 4 pullets and 4 Roos. Fingers crossed. This roo looks different to the others. Does he have the start of tufts or is he just scruffy? I am going to keep one roo. Is this a good one to keep or not?

Looks like his muffs are coming in. You can see that the feathers are still in the keratin sheath.

Muffs include a beard, whereas tufts stick out on the side of the bird’s face

The tufts are on the face and are a lethal gene.

Muffs are made of soft feathers.

Your birds aren’t tufted because I believe they are the UK version.
