Lavender Chick Sizes

Hi all,
I am an experienced Chicken mama but have not had chicks for years. I bought 5 Lavender Americana chicks from a local lady. They came out of the incubator last Monday - so they are currently 6 days old. Boy these buggers grow fast! This morning I noticed that one of the chicks has cross beak. The lady is willing to place this chick - she has some coming out of the incubator today. They are living in a 18" x 36" kennel with brooder plate in my house right now.

How likely am I to have problems with this rowdy bunch of 4 running all over a tiny baby? Can't decide whether or not to get another - I dont want to run two brooders. Thanks

I would wait a day or two for the chick to be able to get its feet under itself before adding it with the others. A 6 or so day difference isn’t too large so there shouldn’t be to many issues.

Thank you - I hoped as much but have not raised this breed before.
