Lavender Color

Thank you for the information. What is rooster booster? Where do you get it? She was starting to think that the rooster was not good, but they are out with her blacks and still the eggs aren,t growing in the incubator. I was wondering if it was the hen. Is there an article that talks about cutting the vent?

Sebrightmom,
You will have to search here and on the Ameraucana club site to find out how to trim the vents.
Rooster Booster is for sale on the internet in different places and unfortunately at different prices so you have to search for the best price. There are companies that sell medicine for chickens and animals and believe they should have it. I can't remember all of their names but Murray McMurray should have it and so should Strombergs but generally they are at the higher end of the spectrum for prices. Also I believe one or two of the companies advertise on here and also on www.eggbid. HS

Hi DutchChic, your gonna love them.. You will have full lavenders before you know it,, once you start getting hatching eggs from them and hatching...You'll get Full Lavenders, Split blacks carrying the lavender gene and also some plain blacks without the lavender gene from them.. You will have lots of fun with these..

I know so far up to this point, we have had a great time and are looking forward to our close to mature Black splits to start laying(about another month).

These are the ones we kept, they are from the very first chicks we hatched.

So the very last two hatches have to go. Very few of them to go around..I will be listing i think at least one more auction for a pair of splits this sunday running till next fri..

Also Once you get the full lavenders, you can use them to start another lavender project If you wish, with just about any large fowl.. JG, Aussies, basically anything simalar or even off beat from the straight comb..

Remember once you get them to send us updates on how things go so we can add them to our records..

Thanks Again
Charlie
