What's is a good colour to mix with lavender or cuckoo lavender is it best to use lav rooster in mix or hen any ideas on nice mix thanks

If you want lavender chicks, you need to cross a lavender hen with a lavender rooster.

You can get sexlinked chicks by crossing a cuckoo hen with a non-cuckoo rooster, because cuckoo is sexlinked.

The lavender gene is not sexlinked, and it doesn't matter whether the hen or the rooster is lavender--the chicks will come out black, not lavender, if you outcross.

I currently have a lavender cuckoo rooster with one copy of barring I believe and have been looking at combining him with chocolate and black. You get a lot of fun color combos with this mix, and the second generation mixes are even more fun! Just with Lavender cuckoo max chocolate—their babies from that mating when mated together could give you chocolate barred, black barred, lavender barred, black, chocolate, and lavender. Lots of fun unique colors :)
