Six week old vent sexed pullet from the hatchery looks like a cockerel. What do you think? Already big pink comb and waddles. This chick is brave, but not exhibiting rooster behavior. I have seen some oprington hens with giant combs and waddles.

Here we are at seven weeks. Still holding out hope for a pullet. Definitely big comb and waddles, but no pointy hackles, saddle feathers, or tail. When do those come in on cocks? Obviously the shredder gene expressing itself.

Still 100% a cockerel. Those feathers don’t usually come in until around 12 weeks, sometimes later. I’ve had same age and even older definite cockerels with less comb than this boy has. No doubt it’s a boy.
