Hello, ok i have this beautiful showgirl hen, and when she was smaller she did have a more darker like blue purplish coloring to her,
some days when i look at her and also depending on the light she looks darker and some days she looks lighter, so confusing.
Any way, do you guys think she is a Lavender that is what i think she is, but i want more opinions, or do you think she is grey?
Thank you,

I say its a splash. Not all splash are white with black spots. Some are a blueish shade all over and have darker areas on them. It could not be a lavender as they do not get darker color in them, they are a consistant shade of light blue with no variations.

Grey is a very different color altogether not even close to that.

I agree with Cara, there is too much variation in colour for the bird to be lavender. It might carry a copy of lavender, but without a second copy there will be no evidence of it. Unless you know that it came from a lavender parent, or at least a split lavender parent don't assume it carries lavender.

Also, are you absolutely sure (as in it is laying) that that is a girl? I'm seeing a masculine look to the hackles & body type.

she came from you, she is sooooo beautiful,
so it was confirmed that she came from lavender, becouse she came from fowlrus which has lavender.

I am bringing her to a swap today to have her checked in person, i will let you know what she says.

Tadkerson had a post at one point on how to tell a lavender from a blue. It involves looking at the top and bottom of the feather shaft. I'll have to see if I can find it.
