Lavender orpington chicks: feathers question

I have 2 lavender orpington chicks that are about 5-6 weeks old. Their fathers have come in almost completely but they look different. They look split at the edges and their not as nice and shiny as my other pullets almost dingy looking. Why is that? I'd it something I'm doing wrong or is it just poor quality breeding?
