Hi I have 47 eggs going in the Bator- day 1 for me.
I had the opportunity to get some Lavender orpington so I got 6 eggs.
They seem small, even though they were not from pullets....

I've had a Buff Orpington before- she was ok, laid ok, but her eggs were big.
She was a big hen.

My questions:
Will the lavender orp's have a similar temperament? size? how will I be able to tell the roos? Are they sex linked at all?
should the chicks be pale grey with black legs? I am hoping they will be easy to tell apart from the others in the incubator.(welsummerr/EE mix, EE, olive egger mix, and pure maran, pure CLB.

Thanks

We have 2 Lavs and one Buff. They're all seam calm, the Lavs are huge compared to the Buff. Good daily layers all. We got 4 Lavs as chicks 2 were roosters, (rehomed) they developed different combs. Good luck to you!

Oh, I dint know they were big!? I wonder if it is just yours..? They will likely be sold in the fall then, as I need my hens to fit thru my 4 x4 chicken door. If I make it bigger-(5x5) the goats will get in! LOL
