This is the black split that has the most white on its face. It is really cute. The other black split has a much blacker face without the white.

Newyorkrita - those lavenders and splits are really cute!

Now to hope I get at least two lavender pullets out of the batch. I would prefer more of course but if I get at least two lavender girls I will be happy.

I would love to be able to breed the lavenders as I think they are so pretty. But I can't have a rooster here so no breeding for me. Basicly I am trying t start my own backyard flock by hatching shipped eggs. I am picking breeds and colors of breeds just because I think they are pretty but I also want good egg layers.

I will have 2 lavender cockerals up for grabs, hatched from Hinkjc eggs, at the Maryland show in Frederick on Nov 6th and 7th. Let me know if anyone is interested.

I was wondering if you can exhibit your Lavender Orpingtons? I am guessing the the answer is yes and that you would show them under the AOV division. Is this correct?

You can exhibit them if they meet the standard in all aspects of the breed (except color). They would be shown as AOV. Although, since most of what is out there are project birds, I wouldn't encourage anyone to show them until they are improved on. Not too many are truly focused on improving them which is a shame.
