Hmm, it really looks like a hen to me, at 5 months, the comb and wattles would be bigger for a boy, could you get a better picture of the area where the tail connects to the body? if the feathers are longish and pointy, make, if short and round, female.
I'm guessing girl.

It is the middle of a molt. I feel like I got jipped and got a past laying age hen. Has hackles feathers like my 7 month old but not the saddle feathers and tail feathers of a rooster. It is larger then my hens. No crowing or anything.

Lavenders often don't show saddles well.
That bird has male specific feathers, but he's definitely not very old.

If you bought him as a young cockerel, you got what you paid for.
