I can't find my previous post for some reason. This is our lavender Orpington. I'm guessing she's a he but still can't say for sure. S/he's about 16 weeks at this point. Any guesses? That shredder gene is rough. I don't see any spurs starting and I haven't heard any crowing or trying to crow.

Please disregard all the dirt. They have access to lovely green grass and refuse to leave that dirt area when anyone is out there with them. 😐 Big chickens. 😏

I'm seeing droopy saddle feathers which makes me lean cockerel. Have the comb and wattles been red for a while, or have they just started turning red?
That's also confusing, haha. They've been "bigger" for a bit but not as bright of a red. If he is a he, when would we start to hear crowing? We had a bantam that we just rehomed because he was crowing. We live in a neighborhood so we can't have roosters. 😔

When they'll crow varies a lot. I had RIR cockerels crow at 10 weeks my barnyard mixes didn't crow until they were closer to six months old.
