Is it possible that if a Lavender male (educated guess: he carries gold) bred a Buff pullet that the offspring could be sex linked? I don't know much about Buff and it seems even the chicken calculator doesn't either. Anyone ever tried this mix?

Well, if it is possible it's certainly not a sex link I've heard about...generally you either need a silver-based hen or a barred hen. The color of the roo is a bit more flexible, and you could use either lavender or buff. Seems like most things bred to lavender throw black splits the first generation out according the the all-knowing chicken calculator, but I certainly haven't tried all the combinations!

Nope, No sexlinkage possible anywhere with that cross. Buff pullets are gold gened for one thing and you cant make Red Sexlinks with gold gened pullets. Also if you did have silver gened pullets, your lav roo, even if he is gold based wouldnt work becuase Lav is a dilution of extended black and when crossing exentended black varieties with colored/patterned breeds, the black overrides most other pattern and color genes and you would get black birds with buff leakage from that cross.
