Lavender - What?

Im a little confussed on what this breed is. I got it from a friend here on the BYC. But she wasnt sure what it was either as she wasnt the breeder. She got some assorted chicks from another person here on the BYC. Im guessing its either an orpington or wyndotte. I could be wrong though. Also I think its a hen. Its a hen isnt it? The others that was with it had much larger/reder combs then this one. And its around 2-3 months old I think. Not certain.

What is noticable about this chicken:
Lavender or self blue color
Pearl or white legs
Blue green eyes
Clean legged

I would say it is a young Orpington Rooster but he has that barring/ checking on his head and neck feathers. Now I don't know if Lavender/ Self Blue can mask or cover the Cuckoo pattern like that or not. If so it could be a Lavender Maran with some of the Cuckoo pattern bleeding through..

I don't have a clue about what kink of chicken, but it looked pretty nice until I got to the picture of the BIG EYE. Now I am frightened....... LOL!

Very pretty color.

A Maran can have feathered legs or clean legs. The leg color is off if it is a Maran. Whatever he is, he is handsome!
