I am currently breeding a lavender orphington roo with speckled sussex hens I've never breed these before and I can't find any pictures of them I can't wait to see what they will look like!!! Does anyone have any they could send me a picture of I'm so curious?!?!

This is a BUFF x Speckled Sussex. A Lavender might just be different colored? This is a boy though, which might affect coloring.

Lavender Orps are basically Black orps with recessive Lavender and Speckled Sussex are red birds with recessive mottling, when you cross them the chicks hatch like black orp chicks, they will remain all black until they mature and may show some red/golden leakage, you will not see Lavender nor mottling as both are recessive,

Ok thanks y'all ... This is my first time breeding them the lady I bought the lavenders from said the bred them with speckleds once but didn't have any left that everyone love them! It's just had to find pictures that actually show 100% what they bred

Knowing the genetic make up of both parents will give you a very good accurate understanding of the cross outcome
Yes I definitely agree, but I've found that occasionally crossing birds can give very unexpected outcomes so I'd be interested in seeing this, you're most likely right with what you said up there though :)

My lavender Orpington rooster got into my speckled Sussex pen. I saw a reply that said black and that’s what I got with a white chest and white tips on the wings. Looks a lot like a black copper Moran chick. I have a few of those in the pen with them now and can barely tell them apart. I’m interested as well as to what they’ll look like Once they’re feathered

How are they looking now? Have you got any new pictures?
