I understand that alot of people enjoy raising chickens. That is fine, but that is for a farm. They should not be in the city limits of Nashville. I have heard on the news and now read that roosters are against the law. Well, there is house that has a rooster! They need to get rid of it! How does some one go about this? They also park illegal business trailers on the street. Top it all off they are probably not citizens. They might be the reason they do not understand the law. But the law is the law. It needs to be enforced.

Thank you for any information.

Wow-

I guess just because my husband has different color skin and customs, and fluent in several languages you are going to assume he's not a citizen either...

Really? I found that very rude. (let me come and ask for help and insult anyone that not just like me)

For the business trailer you complain to the non emergency police number, parking division, or the HOA

for the rooster you can contact the HOA or Animal Care and control...

You DO know that some hen crow... right?

All birds are genetically male unless they get the sex chromosome that makes then female (This is opposite of mammals), so hens with hormone problems or an injury to the only ovary that grows (as I believe it's the left ovary) will 'default' to male behavior- she will crow and strut and may grow spurs- she should not get all the beautiful feathers but she may have large wattles and comb.

Also some chickens are split male/female- if the left side is male, that bird will act male and sound male as there are no female hormones, if it is the left side that's female she -may- be able to lay eggs.

So why don't you go down there and talk to these people?

*knock Knock* Excuse my your bird that crows is bothering me because I am a very light sleeper. Can you please make sure we don't hear it anymore?

There are many ways to keep a loud bird quieter.

Like keeping that one inside longer or other such methods...

Oh and here's the egg-song too-

Really??? Your first post on a website where we all love our chickens,"backyard, farm,or otherwise". That is what this website is all about, hence the title, "Backyard Chickens". I live on a small 20 acre farm and have chickens. I also support all those who want to have chickens no matter where they live!. Too bad you couldn't have posted something a little more positive to this site for your first post. Shame on you! Get a life!

How didmthis person find this site before finding the local government site? Is it that hard to look up Nashville ordinances? Really makes me appreciate my own neighbors who are wonderful people!
