Layer crumbles or layer pellets?

Which is preferred? Layer pellets are $3 per bag more but both have 16% protein. Thanks

I give mine the mash myself and they're perfectly fine. Just a apreference, I guess.

crumbles or pellets is a personal preferance.an if 1 is cheaper than the other.then its the 1 that will save you some money.

The chickens will waste less if you feed them pellets. They tend to throw the crumbles all over.

My chickens like pellets.

I find there is more waste with crumbles as alot of it turns to a "powder" and the chickens do not eat it.

I the crumbles and pellets are from the same manufacturer and are named the same, then they should be the same feed just in different forms. Both feeds are pelleted, but the crumbles either pass through a crumblizer or are "short cut" at the pellet die.

If the products are the same, choose the cheapest one.
