Layer Crumbles or Pellets?

Which do you feed your chickens and why?

I used to feed crumbles because I thought it was easier for them to eat.
I switched to pellets because it seems to waste less.
It didn't take long at ll for the girls to adjust.

I tried the pellets, but my chickens insisted on crumbles. Sooooo crumbles it is!

i usually mix crumbles, pellets, a little sweet feed and a little black oil sunflower seeds

I have some girls who prefer the crumbles and some who prefer the pellets... so I cater to both

Mine much prefer layena crumbles in the feeder, but I mix in some cheap co-op pellets in the scratch feed and they seem to like it off the ground that way.

my girls will eat anything so they get the layer pellets! They love crumbles but waste them terribly! They were hesitant about the pellets at first but got used to it and love them now.

Mine have been eating Layena crumbles for 3 yrs. But its WAY too wasteful. They either scratch it out on the ground, or tip the pan over and spill it all out. I ordered some soy free pellets and they wont eat them, so I add kefir to the pellets and soak it a few minutes, stir it up and add a little scratch, and they eat it pretty good. They would eat nothing but scratch if I'd let them.
Next bag is gonna be Layena Pellets if the feed store has it. If they wont eat it, I'll doctor it up so they will. Too much money going on the ground!!
