Layer feed and Grower? what the Diff?

What is grower feed? I've never heard of it? I have 4 week old chicks that i am feeinding them chick starter. But can I give them grower?

Starter til about 8-10 weeks, then grower til point of lay or about 20 weeks, then layer.

Except around here they only sell a single feed called starter/grower, and a layer feed. Purina feeds are like this, too. I believe at TSC they sell the separate formulas.

The label on your feed bag may say how long to feed it.

Layer food has more calcium and less protein. The chicks can't tolerate that much calcium. I think that the protein content is the main difference between the starter and grower, but all I can get is the starter/grower also.
