Layer feed for 14 week olds

We have 3 laying hens and just got 3 14 week old hens. They are all together in the same coop, run etc. I have just been feeding the layer formula (as I did with the older girls when they were 14 to 20 weeks old). Most folks say to feed a lower calcium food to the younger ones. However how do I feed different foods when they are all together?

You have two choices as far as I can see. First, you could switch everyone over to a flock raiser type food and supply oyster shell in a seperate container for the laying hens OR You could just go ahead and switch the younger ones over to the layer feed; which is what I personally would do. Their going to be laying sooner rather than later and need to start a store of calcium in their bodies anyhow.

That what I did with our last mixed age group--just fed the layer food from 14 weeks on. I will still offer oyster shell for those that want some. Thanks
