My gain is old, so I bought 16% layer feed crumbles and the two males ate that the first day. Now they won't eat it. What do I do? nw Nebraska, Dec. 20 2024 Jeanne

My gain is old, so I bought 16% layer feed crumbles and the two males ate that the first day. Now they won't eat it. What do I do? nw Nebraska, Dec. 20 2024 Jeanne

I fed all my adult guineas 20% protein all flock pellets with free choice oyster shell on the side.

Layer feed has too much calcium for non-laying hens and males. The higher level of calcium in layer feed can cause kidney damage in males.
