Layer feed label comparison

Hello I uploaded two feed labels Producers Pride is Tractor Supply $12.00 before tax and Formax is the local feed from the closest feed store its $17.97 with tax. I think going by the label the Formax is a lot better quality feed with its 20% protein and 3.00 calcium. Would you guys agree for free range laying hens.

No comparison. In addition to the higher overall protein level, the Formax has a better amino acid profile, a slightly lower average calcium (that's a good thing) as free choice oyster shell will let your birds hit their exact individual need, and lacks the grossly excessive fiber levels of the producers pride option.

Now, is it worth almost 50% more??? That depends entirely upon your long term flock management goals, and the breeds which comprise your flock.

Both feeds are just cheap chicken feeds even though one has higher crude protein. Neither of the feeds contain specialty ingredients to help with hen health and vigor such as enzymes (other than phytase), probiotics, prebiotics, nutrient optimizers, specialty trace minerals.
