Fischer, Texas
I have 3 laying or almost laying Rhode Island Reds and 2 younger Ameracaunas. I have only had them for 2 weeks, so still learning. The place we purchased them is an hour away and they fed them Hugelland feed. Just hoping there was a way to get the feed somewhere a little closer to Fischer Texas.. or is there another organic Non GMO feed anyone reccommends thats easier to get.

That totally depends on whats available in you area. Do you have a Tractor Supply or Rural King in your area? If you do then we can be of more help as we could just go on their website and see what they are offering you.

I am very blessed to have quite a few feed stores within easy driving distance and feed mill very close by. So quite a bit of variety, which is nice. However it certainly doesn't come cheap here. A bag of any name brand chick starter from a feed store is about $20 for 50 pounds. Same for Flock Raiser.

The feed mill will save you about $5 a bag on either of those. Seems like the layer feed, broiler feed, and scratch is about the same cost either way for some reason. Cost of doing business in CA I imagine. They do offer bulk discounts but I don't have a big enough flock to use it.

Luckily they will offer waterfowl specific feed as Metzers is local and gets their feed through this mill. Oddly enough they don't list the waterfowl on their website with the other feeds, you have to look for it or ask for it specifically.

So find all your local feed sources so you can compare and get exactly what you want. Its also good to find out if there are any local feed mills in your area as that can give you more options.

I don't think I have heard of this Hugelland feed before. I am looking it up right now to add it to my feed sheet. It's listed below in my signature area. Feel free to scroll through the sheet. It has direct links to feed manufacturers linked in the name boxes (on the sheet) so you can find out if each is sold in your area....by using the search option on each site.

We are in the middle of nowhere!
These two places sell the Texas Natural. It's no soy/non GMO.
