I have a hen who was laying regularly until her "sister" hen went broody and hatched a clutch. She was laying next to her and sneaking some eggs under her. But after the chicks hatched, she found another spot and laid a couple eggs. Then it got to be like 6 eggs between her and another hen who was sharing the new spot. She was acting like she was going broody but it was only for 2 days and then she went back to her normal ways so I ate all the eggs. She came back to the spot and laid one very membrane egg and then nothing since. Meanwhile, the other hen found a new spot and is laying there regularly. What do you all think it's going on?

Are they free ranging?
What all and how exactly are you feeding them?
Are there other birds in your flock that are laying?

Oh, and....Welcome to BYC! @Kouzelnik
Where in this world are you located?
Climate, and time of year, is almost always a factor.
Please add your general geographical location to your profile.
It's easy to do, and then it's always there!

As @aart indicated, we need more info. Breed, age, general location of you (bc weather/light can matter), anything stressful that may have happened to them…

In Hawaii, free ranging, they eat meat, oats, rice, carrots and cabbage and dates in addition to what they find. And free choice oyster shells. Not all at once. The meat is a staple, but the grain changes and the veggies too. But over the course of several days it's all that. The hen is a leghorn cross (I think). There is one other hen that is laying good eggs regularly. One isn't because she's raising a brood. Another is a young Silkie x Andalusian so she isn't ready yet (almost there but won't let the rooster mate so she's still a bit young). And the third is laying. I only have 4 hens.

In that situation, it's really hard to say why one might not be laying.
She may be laying somewhere you can't find.

Do they not get any formulated feed? Being in Hawaii, you have one of the few ecosystems you might be able to get away with 100% free ranging with light breeds but your modern dual porpose will still need more nutrition than the land might be able to give her. Rice is pretty nutritionally devoid and oats contain properties that prevent proper nutrition absorption. Id imagine chicken feed is expensive there but with 4 chickens, it will last a while.
