layer or grower?

Should I feed 5-6 month old chicks eat layer or grower?

I feed mine grower till they start laying, then switch them over to layer. have you gotten eggs yet?

Depending on... if they are laying put them on layer, BUT, if you have some that are laying and some not, It's a good idea to mix the two together.

If it were me I would stick to grower till they began to lay.

Oh sorry just realized you only have two hens. Im not sure about what to feed your roos. Maybe someone will come along with some better insight.

I was told by the girl who gave me the chicks to start layer, even if i have a male

They do have a feed for roosters... but thats if you can feed them seperately.

Personally I feed my roos whatever my hens are eating.

I always follow the info. on the back of the bag of feed that I have started my chicks on...layer after 18 weeks to help with developing eggs...oyster shell for calcium...

Roosters will do fine on layer feeds so you don't have to buy anything special...
