layer pellets @ 17 Weeks?

I have geese, ducks and chickens all 16 weeks old. Everyone is eating grower right now including the few older layers I have. I usually switch the chickens to layer at about 17 weeks. The ducks are coming of age as well. The ducks and geese were raised together and are still very attached to each other. I feed everyone together. Is it safe to switch everyone to layer next week? The geese raid the chicken coops in the morning eating whatever food is left. They are free ranging and on a pond. I know the layer isn't necessary for them now, but if it's safe, having everyone on the same feed us much much easier.

Geese will not need layer pellets until breeding season next year. Their bodies do not need the excess calcium.

Is it safe for them to eat anyway? Much easier to feed everyone the same.

Why not buy an all flock like Purina Flock Raiser then every one can eat the same feed just put oyster shell out for your egg layers.

Can they eat it? Yes Should they be eating it? No. Too much calcium is bad for their bodies. Why not just feed a all purpose feed like Flock Raiser and add in oyster shells when birds are laying.

Flock raiser is a possibility. I really like blue seal feeds. I find less poop and less "bad" poop than with purina stuff. If flock raiser is the way to go, I'll give it a try.
