I am moving my 10 week old chicks out with my 2 layers and 1 roo. What should I feed to keep them all healthy and happy. They usually free range but will be closed up for 2 weeks.

You could feed them an all flock or grower feed, but don't let the chicks eat layer feed. The high calcium content is harmful to them. Offer the layers oystershell or crushed egg shells in a separate container/feeder for their calcium requirements.

OK that's what I thought do I worry about the chicks eating the oyster shell. My adults are bantams and my chicks are full size so I can't put it out of their reach

No,only the hens that are laying and NEED it will eat the oyster shells.

The chicks will likely taste the oyster shell and may eat a little of it, but will find it's not to their taste pretty quickly.

I'd be way more concerned with putting chicks that young in with full grown layers. I've had dead chicks that way, trying to put them in before 4 months. Be sure you have lots and lots of space and hiding places for the littles, and keep a close eye on them.
